DISTURBED GETTING READY TO RECORD NEXT MONTH
The Pulse of Radio reports that DISTURBED is getting ready to record its fifth studio album in Chicago, with producer Johnny K. working with the band again after not being involved with 2008's million-selling effort, "Indestructible". Guitarist Dan Donegan told The Pulse of Radio that the group has already done a lot of preparation for the new record. "We're ready to hit the studio next month," he said. "I think at this point we're probably somewhere between 15 to 18 songs, with the exception of David (Draiman, singer) having to finalize, you know, a few more lyrics to some of the songs. But, you know, we're ready to go. You know, we're excited about new songs, and to get in there and kind of lay down these ideas."

The new DISTURBED album is due out by summer 2010.

This is shaping up to be a busy year for the quartet, who are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, "The Sickness", with a special reissue package featuring exclusive B-side recordings and expanded artwork. Donegan told The Pulse of Radio more about the set. "With the 10-year anniversary we wanted to do something a little special," he said. "I mean, it's the album that kind of put us on the map and launched our career. So we went back into the studio and we remixed it, we're having it remastered, we're gonna put a couple of bonus tracks on there and touch up some of the packaging and the artwork. Just a little collector's item, a little tribute to that album for the fans."

The bonus tracks added to "The Sickness" will likely be songs recorded around the time that the band made that album. The reissue will arrive in March.

DISTURBED will also re-launch its website with a special section, accessible only by a code included with new copies of "The Sickness", that will feature clips of the quartet in the studio recording the new disc.

A "Decade of Disturbed" DVD is also expected to come out later this year as well.

INTOXICATION RECORDS SIGNS FIRST BAND "ART OF DYING" TO REPRISE
In partnership with DISTURBED’s label Intoxication Records, Reprise Records is pleased to announce that it has signed Vancouver hard-rock band ART OF DYING to its roster. Intoxication Records was launched in 2004 by DISTURBED singer David Draiman and guitarist Dan Donegan. Its first release was the band’s live CD/DVD Music as a Weapon II.

ART OF DYING is a five-piece rock band fronted by Jonny Hetherington. The Vancouver-based group, which includes guitarist Greg Bradley, guitarist Tavis Stanley, bassist Cale Gontier, and drummer Jeff Brown, has built a dedicated international following since 2006 touring with Disturbed and Seether, as well as performing at such international festivals as Download and The Virgin Festival alongside Tool, Metallica, and Deftones.

DISTURBED UPDATE
Disturbed is currently off the road after wrapping up their record cycle for Indestructible. they are now starting the process of a new studio album! Tentative plans are for a Summer 2010 release, but we will keep you updated. David has stated that he once again wants the guys to throw at him the darkest, nastiest shit they can deliver, and the record will be as dark if not darker than Indestructible. I smell another strong debut for 2010.

On a side note, there are also plans to eventually release a new Disturbed DVD showcasing the last decade of Disturbed to show how the band has grown and developed since their days of a local band in Chicago.

This is off-topic to you all but I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to our Webmaster, Jacob. Without him, DISTURBEDpedia never would've gotten off the ground and we couldn't be up and running for six months strong without all of his help. Please help me in wishing him a very Happy Birthday!

FORUMS...
Forums are down for the time being while our site admin makes some changes/updates. Although we'd love to have the forum up, we did have a recurring issue with spam and a noticeable lack of interest. Feel free to leave your comments here if you'd like to see the forum return... Otherwise, we may use the space for something else. Suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
